Lance Triggs Discusses Importance of 10th Anniversary

Lance Triggs, EVP, President, HOPE Programs, Operation HOPE A commitment to building communities, families, and individual lives is the hallmark of the life and 37-year career of Lance W. Triggs. Currently the President of Program Operations Division for Operation HOPE, the nation’s leading financial empowerment non-profit organization, Mr. Triggs is a seasoned and tested executive, with a solid track record of success in managing complex operations and projects, developing a national non-profit organization from the ground up, and leading large teams in major national and global initiatives.
Under Triggs’ leadership, HOPE has surpassed over 4.5 million client services and successfully committed over $2.3 billion in investments by improving the financial wellbeing in the lives of individuals, families and businesses. This is achieved through the over 200 HOPE Inside Network Hubs serving over 1,000 locations in 35 states across the United States in the form of youth and adult financial literacy money, credit and foreclosure prevention management counseling, small business technical assistance, digital empowerment initiatives, mortgage and business lending capital to first time home buyers and entrepreneurs.
Over his illustrious career, Mr. Triggs has headed up major emergency disaster response and recovery projects involving United States Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, major international dignitaries, and political and civil rights icons such as Vice President Al Gore, Ambassador Andrew Young, Dr. Dorothy Height, Dr. C.T. Vivian, Reverend Joseph Lowery to name a few. In 1998, Triggs was selected as one of 20 delegates representing the United States at the United Nations Trade and Development Conference in Lyon, France.
Among his most impressive accomplishments, Mr. Triggs has managed several Global Financial Empowerment Forums featuring such prominent national leaders as former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke, Gallup CEO Jim Clifton, Senior White House Advisor Valarie Jarrett, NYSE CEO Duncan Niederauer, Casablanca Stock Exchange CEO Karim Hajji, Luiz Edson Feltrim and Deputy Governor of Banco Central do Brasil as well as delegations from over 40 countries from around the world. He also had the distinguished opportunity to manage the development of the HOPE Financial Dignity Center (the Martin Luther King, Sr. Community Resource Complex), headquartered on the Martin L. King Center campus in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Triggs was born and bred in the soil of social service. The only son of prominent African-American parents Lee and Lilliane Triggs, young Lance grew up and attended school in Los Angeles.
Triggs is a product of the California State University system, attending Cal State Fullerton, Academy Pacific, receiving a diploma in Transportation Management and Boston College Carroll School of Management and receiving a certificate in Corporate Leadership. A native Angelino born in Hollywood, California, Lance attended California State Fullerton and Academy Pacific, receiving a diploma in Transportation Management. He was named in “Who’s Who in Black Los Angeles,” from 2008-2011. He continues his family’s legacy and commitment to public service and improving the economic and spiritual quality of life for all Americans who reside in underserved communities across the United States.

Dr. George C. Fraser, Chairman and CEO, FraserNet Dr. George C. Fraser is Chairman and CEO of FraserNet, Inc., a company he founded over 30 years ago, to lead a global networking and economic development movement for people of African descent. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was an orphan and foster child for 15 years. He spent 20 years in leadership positions with Procter & Gamble, United Way and Ford Motor Company before starting his own business, FraserNet Inc. in 1987. He’s written 6 best-selling books to include: Success Runs in Our Race, Click and most recently, Mission Unstoppable: Extraordinary Stories of Failure’s Blessings, a book he co-authored with Les Brown. Upscale Magazine named him one of the “Top 50 Power Brokers in Black America,” and Black Enterprise magazine called him “Black America’s #1 Networker” and featured him on its cover.
Dr. Fraser has been featured on 7 national magazine covers, He has received over 350 awards and citations to include: Induction into the Minority Business Hall of Fame and Museum, 3 Honorary Doctorate Degrees, a Chaplaincy and a **Ambassadorship. He is a Certified Financial Education Instructor and has an Insurance License. He has been named as one of the best speakers in America and 5 of his speeches have been selected for global distribution by the prestigious Vital Speeches of the Day magazine, a first for any professional speaker in America.
In 2016 President Obama awarded Dr. Fraser “The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award” Dr. Fraser is most proud of the 2 charter schools he helped founded in Cleveland, Ohio nearly 15 years ago which educate nearly 300 inner city Black children of which 60% are boys. Dr. Fraser’s “final act”, is to use his massive network and influence to join the fight for financial literacy in Black America. He is now in the process of launching the WINGS Financial Education Centers and Curriculum. WINGS is a rebranding and upgrading of the “old school” Black church “Wealth Ministries”.
Over the next decade, thousands of new and well-equipped WINGS Centers will be open (free of charge) to all those to want to teach and/or learn the basics of money “free of charge”. Classroom instruction will be provided for free by thousands of underutilized financial services professionals who will get Certified in Financial Education Instruction(CFEI).

Boris Kodjoe Actor, Director, Producer, Investor and Philanthropist Boris Kodjoe is an actor, director, producer, investor and philanthropist. He is known for his roles in House Of Cards, The Last Man on Earth, Brown Sugar, Soul Food, the Resident Evil franchise, and The Real Husbands Of Hollywood. His movies have grossed over $1 billion at the box office.
Boris is a German/Ghanaian dual citizen who received his degree in Business from Virginia Commonwealth University where he attended on a tennis scholarship. He has 25+ years of business development and advisory expertise in entertainment, media and tech. As an investor Boris’ portfolio includes high-potential companies led by diverse founders globally through venture capital partners across his expansive network in tech, sports and entertainment. His investments in over 75 companies include TheraBody, PROTO, UNest, HiDef and more. Boris co-founded “Full Circle Africa” that brings together business leaders, cultural influencers, and government officials from the continent and the Diaspora to create synergies around economic development and Africa-focused investment opportunities.
Global viral content generated by the Full Circle Africa event campaign was instrumental in helping to contribute $1.6 billion of tourism revenue to the Ghanian economy in 2019. Their annual conference features heads of states as well as business, entertainment and academia VIPs engaging in solution-based dialogue with the goal of creating a mindset shift from charity and aid dependency to investing in the continent of Africa.
He and his wife, Nicole Ari Parker, have built the successful GymWrap fitness apparel line with a wide retail and online presence. They also support health and wellness initiatives for underserved communities, offer scholarships for black high school student tennis players as well as internships at the African Leadership Academy via their Kodjoe Family Foundation. Boris serves on Robert Smith’s Business Roundtable Committee for Racial Equity and Justice (2% Solution). He and his family live in Los Angeles.

Truist Bank’s Dontá L. Wilson: Why Small Businesses Matter

They chatted with Dontá L. Wilson, Chief Consumer and Small Business Banking Officer Dontá L. Wilson is the chief consumer and small business banking officer for Truist Financial Corporation, a purpose-driven financial services organization committed to inspiring and building better lives and communities.
He leads 20,000 teammates who serve retail, premier and small business clients through digital banking, multiple virtual service centers and more than 1,900 community banking branches. Additionally, he oversees core deposit and loan products, also including mortgage, auto, credit card, and national consumer lending businesses: LightStream, Dealer Financial Services, Regional Acceptance Corporation, Sheffield Financial, and Service Finance Company; as well as consumer capital markets; consumer credit underwriting and approval; enterprise marketing; client analytics; client experience strategy; and digital banking, transformation and innovation. He is also a member of Truist’s Operating Council. Wilson was named to the executive leadership team in 2016 and has served as chief retail and small business banking officer and chief digital and client experience officer for Truist.
His career leadership responsibilities span both consumer and wholesale client segments, in addition to holding several enterprise function leadership roles. Wilson has led global services and enterprise bank operations, intelligent automation, experience design and research, decision science, corporate communications, CRA and community development, the Truist Foundation and fintech investments through Truist Ventures. Prior to 2016, Wilson served in regional and group president roles leading retail, wealth, mortgage, commercial, corporate banking and commercial real estate.
His experience encompasses successfully guiding teams through multiple acquisitions, including the historic Truist merger of equals in 2019. Wilson serves on the Signet Jewelers (NYSE: SIG) Board of Directors and is vice chairman of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Trustee Board. He has been named one of Savoy’s Top Black Executives since 2016 and was chosen Digital Banker of the Year by American Banker in 2021. Wilson is a member of Global 50/World 50, Executive Leadership Council, Sigma Pi Phi (Boulé) and Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. Wilson earned his bachelor’s degree in management from UNC Charlotte and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
