“Politics In Color” offers an inviting new presence for amplifying thoughtful and productive discourse on issues affecting America’s communities of color.  We are a megaphone for delivering the shared concerns of communities to the ears of public policy makers, while conversely educating voters of color on the news and political processes that uniquely impact their lives. Our objective? Leaving citizens better-informed, more civically involved, giving rise to more responsive government which just might make America a better place to live!

Award-Winning Journalists

Bryan Jenkins is a seasoned commentator and producer of Politics In Color, boasting over 35 years in broadcast journalism. He has anchored newscasts, produced documentaries, and hosted and produce TV specials nationwide. Bryan’s accolades include two Los Angeles Emmy Awards, a Golden Mike Award, and the NABJ’s National Award of Excellence. Known for his storytelling and communication prowess, he has driven successful media campaigns for politicians, businesses, and non-profits. Based in Southern California, Bryan now excels as a media consultant, columnist, and writer.

Dara Kennedy is an anchor and producer for Politics In Color. As a skilled broadcast journalist, she has excelled in news, sports, live shows, and hosting productions with studio audiences and on-location shoots, traveling across five continents and over 50 countries. From London to the Middle East, Africa, and America, Dara has helmed programs and covered major events, interviewing prominent figures in primetime, evening drives, and morning shows across TV, radio, and digital platforms. She has been a pivotal member of Emmy-nominated and award-winning productions and has earned accolades such as “100 Phenomenal Women Of Color,” recognition as a top international journalist, and features in Forbes. Her expertise, cultivated at CNN’s International Desk and ESPN, has led to a versatile on-air career, including being the first woman of color to anchor shows in multiple markets.

Dara’s corporate engagements include appearances with Morgan Stanley, the United Nations, and the NBA, where she has served as a moderator, panelist, and speaker. Based in New York City, she delivers the latest national and global headlines as an anchor in the nation’s premier market.

Jonathan Clarke serves as an anchor for Politics In Color and brings over 35 years of experience as a professional communicator. An Emmy Award-winning journalist and writer, he excels in news analysis, strategic communications, multiplatform writing, broadcast and print journalism, voiceovers, and on-camera talent. Jonathan has been a news reporter and producer at television network affiliates in St. Louis, Missouri, and Memphis, Tennessee. Additionally, he has produced programs for public television and locally streamed television magazine programs. He has appeared as a commentator for Al Jazeera during the Ferguson Riots and has been featured on nationally televised news programs. Jonathan is recognized for his dedication to delivering high-value service with persistent professionalism. In his free time, he enjoys singing, writing creative fiction and poetry, photography, and cooking.

Neil Foote is the Executive Editor for Politics In Color and a consultant to BlaCon Media, the parent company of the digital and OTT content platform. With over 40 years of experience, he has held journalism and digital strategy roles at the Miami Herald, Washington Post, and Dallas Morning News/Belo Corp. Neil co-founded BlackAmericaWeb.com. He served as a PR professional for Tom Joyner/Reach Media. As CEO of Foote Communications, he specializes in public relations, content management, and multicultural marketing. He has taught journalism and held executive roles at the University of North Texas. From Brooklyn, Neil is a member of the NABJ Hall of Fame and holds degrees from Wesleyan University, Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, and SMU’s Cox School of Business.

Wilmer J. Leon III, Ph.D., fulfills the role of host for Politics In Color. A distinguished Political Scientist, he specializes in Black Politics, American Government, and Public Policy. Dr. Leon has an esteemed background in education and media, having served as a Lecturer and Teaching Associate in the Political Science Department at Howard University for 11 years. Currently, he is a nationally broadcast radio talk show host on SiriusXM Satellite Radio channel 126 and Radio Sputnik. He also hosts the podcast Connecting the Dots with Dr. Wilmer Leon and is a nationally syndicated columnist and regular political commentator on national and international news programs. Additionally, Dr. Leon is a sought-after guest on Deep Impact with Rick Sanchez and Cross Talk with Peter Lavelle.
